SAP SD stands for Sales and Distribution also known as SAP order fulfilment. It is one of the oldest and largest functional modules in SAP system and handles Sales order processing, pricing, picking, packing, shipping and billing etc.
SAP SD consists of all the master data, system configuration and transaction processing to complete the process of order to cash. SAP SD is integrated with other SAP modules like SAP MM (material management) and SAP FICO (Financial accounting and costing).

SAP MM stands for Material Management and is one of the core modules in SAP. It supports the Procurement and Inventory functions occurring in day-to-day business processes.
SAP MM contains many aspects like purchase requisition, purchase order, goods receipt, material storage, consumption based planning and inventory. SAP MM is fully integrated with other SAP modules like FICO, SD, QM, QM, PP. It supports all phases of material planning and control, purchasing, goods receipt, inventory management and invoice verification.
